Chains of True Self

Chains of True Self is a collaboration between artist Grace Hartley and Roosevelt High School ceramics students. Hartley (an NAEA award-winning art educator, current MFA candidate at PNCA, and instructor with the Pre-College program) worked with students to explore ideas of connection and community-based art as they created individual links and then short segments of chain, which were then fired and attached. The final work is over 35 feet long! This exhibition is made possible by a generous Arts Learning Grant from the Oregon Arts Commission.
